IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE

The COVID-19 pandemic does not seem to be ending anytime soon.  As a result our Sunday services and all activities at CRC are cancelled.  (Sadly, this includes our community Good Friday service and our Easter service at Charlevoix MS/HS.)  Our ONLINE Sunday service at 9:00 a.m. will continue and we will be sending out preparation materials for our service through mail, email, and our Facebook page.  Click on the Facebook link on this page to access our service at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.

We will be 'gathering' as a church to pray via Zoom (online) this Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.  You will be emailed and/or texted the link or you can find it below on this page.  Just click on the link at the designated time and you can connect with others from CRC to pray.  You'll need to join us with a device (phone, tablet, computer) with a camera.

Don't forget to follow our Instragam account (by April 7th) at crcofcvx to be entered into a drawing for a new puzzle from Puzzles That Rock, a business run by Matt & Lisa Claflin.

For any non-urgent needs or questions during this time, please leave a message at the office or email.  Messages and emails will be checked throughout the day.  For any urgent needs, please contact Pastor Chip Sauer (330-5331) or Pastor Chris Maki (675-9931).

Your offerings can be mailed to the church (100 Oak St.) or you can give online by clicking the link below.

Please keep praying for everyone impacted by this challenging and uncertain time.

  • ONLINE GIVING

Part of this new challenge we are facing is the impact that it has on giving. There are two pieces to that. First, we rely on giving to cover our general operating expenses. This may be a good encouragement for you to sign up. You can click HERE to do that.

In addition, to keep general expenses covered, we're not sure what all the future holds. We anticipate that as this virus spreads and as it impacts more people that there is going to be a significant financial impact in people's lives and we are prepared to do our part and want to encourage you to participate in seeking to come alongside people in the midst of that need.

This is another reason why being connected is so important, so you can stay up to date with the different ways we can help. We want you to prepare not only to support the church financially but to recognize that there's going to be opportunities that present themselves for us to care about people in financial need.

  • CANCELLING ALL CHURCH ACTIVITIES UNTIL AFTER Sunday, April 5th

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kav6MIcRDVk

    Dear CRC Family,

Here at Community Reformed Church we want to care for our congregation in all respects, including the physical well-being of our community. To that end, we are asking you to take precautions to keep yourself and others safe, especially in light of recent developments with the coronavirus (COVID-19). In consideration of Governor Whitmer declaring a state of emergency in Michigan and mediatory recommendations including limiting large gatherings to prevent spread of the disease, we've determined appropriate actions and next steps. In light of this, we are cancelling all church activities until after Sunday, April 5th.  This may change as more information comes to light, but for now, we will not have worship services, Wednesday night classes, or any larger group gatherings at church.  The Breakfast Club will not provide a sit down meal, but instead will offer meals for pick up from 8 a.m.-9 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays until April 7th.

We have decided to move our Sunday services to an online format. We will offer a worship experience beginning at 9 a.m. Service content will be available on Facebook Live at 9:00 a.m. You can click on the link above. The content will also be available on our YouTube channel.  (We'll send out a link to our channel via email or text.  Please subscribe.)  This is not an inconvenience but an invitation and a calling for us as God's church to worship as believers have for millennia - in homes, surrounded by family, loved ones, and smaller communities.  Because online connection will be vital during this time, please LIKE our Facebook page - "Community Reformed Church of Charlevoix" and share and like our Facebook posts so the word gets out.

While we intend to take the necessary cleaning and medical precautions, our first response as a faith community needs to be that of a deep trust in the peace and grace of God. In the midst of widespread anxiety and fear, we as the church are called to speak into that which we don't understand or control with a sense of calm that God is our Creator, Sustainer, and Protector. We must be ready to advocate for and consider the marginalized, sick, and vulnerable that will be impacted by this circumstance both locally and globally.

It is a reality that when church doors close, giving as a discipline tends to falter. At Community Reformed Church, we believe that giving is a crucial part of being a follower of Christ. During this time we ask you to continue to support what God is doing here in your home church.

We want to remind you of several ways you can enjoy this act of worship despite not being physically gathered on a Sunday:

    •  Since the Office will still be open during normal office hours, you are invited to drop it off.
    •  Our online giving platform by clicking HERE
    • By mail at 100 Oak Street Charlevoix, Mi. 49720

In Psalm 46, we are reminded that God is our refuge and strength, and our ever-present help in trouble! Please join us in praying for those who are impacted by COVID-19, as well as those who are working tirelessly to curb the spread of this virus. Let's all do our part.

    In Christ,

    Chip
