Week 27
Scripture:
Every day is hard for those who suffer, but a happy heart is like a continual feast. Proverbs 15:15
Devotional:
Have you read the story of Joseph in the Bible? Lots of bad things happened to him. He could have been angry and mean and felt really sorry for himself, but he didn’t. Instead, every time something bad happened, Joseph just worked harder. Joseph stayed cheerful, trusted God, and had a great attitude. There’s a famous saying that goes, “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.” When bad things happen, you can get angry, whine, and complain. Or you can make the best of a bad situation and make some lemonade, just like Joseph.
Family Questions:
- 1. When you have a bad day and hard things happen how do you feel?
- 2. How can you change the way you feel?
- 3. Why does it feel good to be around people who are happy rather than those who are grumpy?
Prayer:
Dear God, I know bad things happen sometimes. When they do, help me to have a good attitude and find something good I can do. Amen.
